I decided to slightly update the exterior of the tavern. I ordered a sign with a picture of a hammer from a tinker. Today I hung it above the door. I originally asked for the tavern name to be engraved on the sign, but the tinker objected. And who thought of calling the tavern “By the Gaptaar's Hammer”? Who was this Graptaar?4th of Rahja, 847 BF
The tavern brings continuous losses. Shipping ale from Angbar is too expensive, and the local beer tastes more like piss. We need to come up with a cheap alternative. Eureka! Maybe I should try turning urine into something useful?6th of Rahja, 847 BF
Embarked on a quest to unlock the secrets of alchemy, aiming to turn ordinary urine into pure gold. Consulted ancient alchemical tomes and experimented with various elixirs, hoping to unveil the elusive formula for transforming the mundane into the precious.
I need to find some smuggler who could get me a book of alchemical recipes from southern Aventuria. It sure has what I need!

After countless experiments, achieved a breakthrough in my pursuit of alchemical gold. The once urine now gleam with a golden hue, however it is still jelly-like. But I am a step closer to unlocking the mysteries of alchemy and potentially turning the tavern's fortunes to gold!
Three days ago I have returned from Tiefhusen. I met a dwarf named Yotto. He is going to Al'Anfa soon and promised to look for the recipe for gold for me.

Caution and excitement dance on the edge of reason as I refine the transmutation process. The urine, now treated with a perfected elixir, became solid and radiates an undeniable golden brilliance. The alchemical dream of turning the ordinary into gold inches closer to reality!
Today I will start making a press for minting coins. I have to study the engravings on the coins with the highest precision so that no one can recognize the fake.
2nd of Praios, 848 BF
Experiment with coins failed. I tried to shove them to visiting Norbardian merchants. They immediately identified the fake by smell. And two days after that, the coins began to crumble into powder.
Jotto stopped by and offered to buy a recipe of money crapper from him. I didn't have enough money. Then he said that he would find a more generous buyer. I need money!

Today's concoction proved a triumph! A delightful brew that'll leave patrons begging for more. It's a potent blend of fiery spirits and earthy undertones – perfect for warming the heart in these cold, mountainous realms.11th of Hesinde, 848 BF
Ah, mead and mischief! My latest endeavor involved infusing ale with rare mountain herbs. The outcome is a drink that tickles the senses and sets the spirit ablaze. Ember's Elixir, I shall call it.
The tavern is gradually gaining popularity. This week, as many as 50 miners celebrated the discovery of silver. And everyone, without exception, liked my ale! I'll have to brew more!

Experimentation continues. Attempted to add a touch of magic to the mead. The results were explosive! Note to self: dwarves and levitating tankards do not mix well.
Regular visitors appear. I need more food. Nothing fits in the kitchen anymore. I need to dig a cool cellar and keep supplies there so that they do not spoil.

Took a risk today, blending dragonroot with the brew. The aroma alone is invigorating, and the taste – like a dragon's fiery embrace. Patrons better be prepared for a drink that breathes life into their veins.
I managed to dig a 5 by 5 steps cellar. Brought barrels of ale and bags of cereals down there. Now there is room to spread out in the kitchen. I will continue experimenting with drinks.
15th of Phex, 848 BF
A twist of fate! The alchemical accident transformed a regular ale into a mesmerizing, glow-in-the-dark delight. Patrons adore it, dubbing it 'Ember's Radiance'. Who knew mistakes could be so profitable?

Ventured into the deep caves to harvest rare mushrooms. The concoction now boasts an otherworldly aftertaste. Some call it 'Dwarven Delirium'. I might be onto something groundbreaking.
Jotto stopped by today. He was pleasantly surprised that my business was going well. He sold me two old alchemy books! He also offered to buy a copy of the money crapper recipe, but raised the price 10 times. I'm no longer sure I need it. He intrigued me about something else. According to him, a chimerical tree grows on the island of Maraskan. It is a crossbreed between a tree and a pig. Its wood tastes like pork. I want this tree!

Ran out of traditional ingredients, so I experimented with mountain flower extracts. The result is a brew that captivates the senses and leaves drinkers in a dreamlike state. The tavern has never seen such enchanted patrons. The profit from the tavern is growing, but too slowly. Farmers are raising meat prices all the time. I'm thinking about solutions to the problem.

Dabbled with a peculiar crystal found in the mines. Its essence imbued the ale with a subtle magical resonance. 'Crystal Cascade' is born – a drink that sparkles and soothes the soul.
Tried incorporating a glowing mushroom into the mix. The ale now carries an ethereal glow, earning the name 'Gemstone Glint'. It's not just a drink; it's a marvel to behold.

Discovered a forgotten recipe in an ancient tome. Combined with my alchemical expertise, it birthed a brew that transcends reality – 'Astral Ambrosia'. The taste is out of this world, quite literally.
Experimented with a peculiar mushroom known for its hallucinogenic properties. Patrons are taken on a wild journey with 'Fungal Frenzy'. The tavern has never seen such revelry.
Incorporated the crystals into the brewing process. The ale now shimmers with mystical energy, enchanting all who partake. 'Enigma Elixir' is sure to become a legend!

Brewed a mead using ancient runes as part of the alchemical process. 'Runic Resonance' not only invigorates but also imparts a sense of ancient wisdom to those who indulge.
Jotto came by for breakfast today. He is heading to Tobria and asks if I need anything from there. I replied that it would be better if he brought me a pork-tree from Maraskan island.
19th of Ingerimm, 848 BF
I have decided to brew an invigorating drink for a change. I mixed some raw Gulmond leaves with Whirlweed. Tried blending mountain minerals into the mix. The result is a hearty, fortifying drink known as 'Stoneheart Stout'. Patrons swear by its ability to strengthen the body and spirit. I think this drink was particularly successful. I'll be sure to write down this recipe!

Embarked on a quest for the rarest of herbs atop the highest peaks. The concoction that emerged, 'Celestial Nectar', is a testament to the heights one can reach in the pursuit of alchemical perfection. The tavern shall be forever changed!
Jotto returned from his trip and brought me a tree sapling! I can't believe it! Will I really have my very own pork-tree? Can't wait to plant it!
2nd of Rahja, 848 BF
Planted the chimeric pork-tree seedling with great anticipation. The backyard now houses the potential for a bountiful harvest of both pork and exotic blooms. A gamble, perhaps, but one that promises a feast for both the palate and the senses. The visitors look at me with suspicion. They don't like the look of the tree. I got to admit, there is something creepy and even demonic it. But if it really becomes a source of pork for me, then I don't care what it looks like.
2nd Nameless Day, 848 BF
Noticed the first signs of growth on the chimeric pork-tree. Tiny shoots emerging, carrying the promise of future pork delicacies. Excitement courses through me like the lifeblood in the veins of this fantastical creation.
Endeavored to care for the tree with utmost dedication. Fertilized the soil with special alchemical mixtures, whispered encouraging words, and even played a tune on my dwarven zirbel to serenade its growth.

There are a lot of visitors. The fame of my drinks has reached Tjolmar! I think my parents would be proud of me.
I discovered something strange. When I go down into the cellar, I sometimes think I hear voices underground. Maybe I'm overtired and imagining things?
4th Travia, 849 BF
A minor setback — a sudden frost threatened the tender shoots of the chimeric pork-tree. Swiftly employed protective measures, wrapping the saplings in fabrics. Maybe I should transplant it into a greenhouse. Should ask Jotto next time I see him.
20th Travia, 849 BF
I am heartbroken. This morning I discovered that my tree had been chewed up by some predator. I looked after it so carefully, and now it is gone! Why, Angrosch, why?!
