Swamp fever causes delusions, panic, anxiety, then after a few hours the onset of long-lasting half-sleep, bouts of fever that reach its zenith on the third day and then subside again. The victim is unconscious most of the time.

The fever can be transmitted by swamp bugs and mosquito bites.
